I hope that you were as saddened and distressed about the spate of young suicides in South Wales a little while ago as I was
What makes young people go to such extremes? I believe that at the root of it is a complete lack of hope, for themselves, for the human race , for the world. The bible says that ‘without vision’, the people perish’ and a lack of hope can quench any thoughts of vision.
Around Bedford you will be seeing posters and flyers with the words HOPE 08 on them. This is an initiative by the Christian churches in Bedford to re-instil the idea that there IS HOPE, even in today’s ‘hopeless’ world. That HOPE is exemplified at Easter when we are reminded that God hasn’t given up HOPE for us, instead He gave up His Son Jesus, to give us HOPE.
